About Me
My Soccer Journey Thus Far
Growing up I was always moving. My parents would put me in every sport available. I did softball, basketball, swimming, gymnastics, track and of course soccer. I have been playing and loving soccer since I was 3. I have been a part of De Anza Force since 3rd grade. Throughout my many years at the club, I have been on many teams. When my age group split my team into 04s and 05s, I was only a practice player for the Pre-ECNL team and was rostered on the second team. During this time, I learned how to be a leader on the second team while training hard with the top team. After about two years of working really hard, I was able to get a full spot on the top team. However, I still was not getting a lot of playing time. So, just like before I put the work in and I started to see progress. For the past 3 years I have been a Co-Captain for De Anza Force ECNL (former DA) team. My soccer journey has already taught me many valuable skills that have shaped me into the player I am today. While I have worked hard and been fortunate to achieve some of my early goals, I am still at the beginning stages of my soccer journey. I have big goals and aspirations, and am so committed to working on my dreams.
My Goals and Dreams
I am on Coach Lloyd Grist's U-17 De Anza Force Girls ECNL team. My immediate goal for this season is to compete and further develop my skills and intellect on and off the field during these challenging times. In the future, I aspire to continue playing at the highest level on my club team and participate in the Olympic Development Program. My ultimate goal is to play Division I soccer at a university with both a strong soccer program and challenging academic curriculum. After college, my dream is to play on the USWNT, professionally for the NWSL, and build a career in soccer as a coach, administrator, trainer, etc. I am so grateful for every female athlete that have helped forge a path for girls like me to dream big and set ambitious goals. My greatest hope is that I can continue to build upon the foundation of girls soccer.
My Family
I come from a very big, loving, supportive family. I have two older sisters and one younger brother. We spend a lot of time laughing, going to the beach, and just spending time together. Having 3 siblings is amazing 90% of the time. Being the third child, I have always been super close with my younger brother, Logan. As long as I can remember we have made everything a competition. It didn't matter if it was chores, homework, or fitness we pushed each other to be the best. Both of us love to win and hate to lose, because of that I never give up on anything. When competing with him I am not only improving my strength and grit, but I am also teaching him that when you are passionate about something you never give up.
My Extracurricular Activities
In addition to school and soccer, I have been very involved in a organization called Goals for Girls ever since I was 5. The Goals for Girls establishment works with soccer players, leaders and volunteers who teach young girls from developing countries leadership skills through soccer. For the past 10 years I have been helping run/participating in camps and fundraisers. My ultimate goal is to be a team captain in the trip to South Africa the summer of 2022. Being a part of this organization has taught me so many skills that I can not only take with me in everyday life but also can apply on the soccer field. Furthermore, I have been working with my mom's company, ConnectEd Developmental Therapies, for the past 5 years. I have been a part of social groups where I help teach kids with autism how to appropriately socialize with other teenagers. These experiences have shown me many diverse perspectives and taught me many lessons. More specifically, I have realized my privilege has greatly impacted my experiences on and off the field . The main lesson my opportunities with Goals for Girls and individuals with autism has taught me is the importance of trying to appreciate others' experiences and offering support and service whenever I can.
